Ridtz have a say..
Yeah, so, Ridtz is a jovial, perky, hopeless romantic who talks a lot.
He's kooky, crazy and down to earth all at the same time. He's a FREAK for cleanliness & personal hygiene is a must must!
He love life and intend to live every day with a serious passion and he'll try just about anything once! He live to laugh.
He's of the weird, spontaneous, introverted yet extroverted, low-maintenance persuasion and am usually up for anything anytime.
He try to balance that out by not being a collector or a snob or an egomaniac.
Mostly he think life is about experiences, with other people and with ideas, and he try to live with that in mind.
Anyone keen in making friends do drop a line or two & step into his world..
How did you start acting?
To be perfectly honest, there was never,(notice that emphasize), I repeat, never really a clear point
in my life where I wanted to become an actor. I just knew I wanted to become an actor since I was a kid, despite not having any prior
experince or opportunity to participate in till my last year in Primary school where I'm involved in a school production.
Your first ever role was?
Let me recall.. Be it in production or play, never was I given the main role. But I would consider my ever first main
role when I am involved in a school production in the year 2004. I must've been about 15. I am playing the role as 'Eric',
the ernest musician in Club Gangsa. Music, music, music. That's all that matters to him. I remember that, even as a performing art
student myself, we had to audition for parts.
What's the most memorable role you've ever had so far?
My favourite, memorable and toughest role to date was playing the main role in "Bang Bang You're Dead!" as Josh.
I have to really understand the plot of the story(which I did not, but eventually did in the end! Heehee!). Variations of
emotions were cast for me from being happy to sarcastic to anger and to wept. Not only that, I'm being pushed to a wooden coffin and
the rest of the cast had to push the coffin sideways and rolled me over. But then again, I love playing a challenging role. No pain, no gain!
What exactly do you find so fascinating about acting?
From my experience, people have always viewed acting as only for girl/women. It isn't true at all! The fact that
you can always allow a lesser seen side of you to be presented without people casting judgement on you, because you can say it's all
for the sake of the show.(I could still remember as I have to act like a girl, and catwalk like a girl! But then again, it's all
for the sake of the show!) The adrenaline rush that you get from performing before a live audience is hard to find, really. And acting
makes you realised the brevity of life and how vulnerable you actually are and succeeding as a convincing actor is a great sensation.
"Acting is a reflection of life.."
How acting ever affected your grade, school life or even even your friendship or relatinship?
Acting definitely had an impact on my life. For my lack of time spent with families or buddies especially, I try to
make it up after the production. Obviously, at times, it is difficult to juggle along rehearsal hours but I find that I thrive on the
stress to fit everything into my day, at least.
Any advice for budding actors?
Of course! For those budding actors or actor-to-be, go out there and grab as many opportunity you can! One thing I
learnt, keep improving yourself in your craft to stay ahead of competition and you'll get there eventually!
